Nancy Casanova

Ph.D. student - Tucson

My research interest is in Interstitial lung diseases, primarily Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Sarcoidosis. I completed my training as clinician in Mexico.  After the completion of my research internship year I started my residency training in medical genetics. Upon moving to the United States I obtained my certification as a Medical Graduate and completed a Master Degree in Public Health. At the University of Illinois I  joined the prestigious lung research group headed by Dr. Garcia and continued working in clinical research. Years later, I moved to the University of Arizona, a diverse institution with an impressive research and scientific program portfolio. The CTS program at the University of Arizona has been a perfect match for my interests; it has allowed me to further expand my knowledge on translational medicine. Currently I am working toward a PhD in Clinical Translational Sciences with a minor in Genetics.
