Hongyu Qiu, MD, PhD, is a professor of Internal Medicine, Translational Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC) and professor of Clinical Translational Sciences (CTS), Bio5 member, College of Medicine-Phoenix (COMP), University of Arizona. With over 35 years of research experience in both clinical and basic science, Dr. Qiu specializes in physiology and molecular biology related to cardiovascular diseases. Her focus areas include ischemic heart disease, pressure-overload-induced heart failure, hypertension, and aging-associated cardiovascular deterioration. Her research has been continuously funded by grants from NIH and AHA and has made significant contributions to the field. Furthermore, she possesses extensive expertise in biomedical teaching and research training, having mentored numerous MS, PhD, and MD/PhD students over the past decades.
