Research Interests: Our goal is to identify and target the mechanistic bases for diseases of the CNS including those pertaining to cognition, mental illness, addiction, and intersystemic comorbidities such as mental health and peripheral inflammation, obesity, and breast cancer chemotherapy. We are also interested in mechanisms of neuronal injury pertaining to stroke, head trauma, and neurodegeneration, which share mechanistic overlap with neoplastic mechanisms that cause cancer. We use an array of advanced and innovative approaches including drug discovery, with the goal of bringing new understanding and therapeutic approaches to the clinic.
