Melissa Lopez-Pentecost, MS, NDTR

Melissa is a Doctoral Student in the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona (UA) in Clinical and Translational Sciences. She obtained her Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona. Melissa works under Dr. Cynthia Thomson as her primary research advisor and is involved in her current study; Lifestyle Intervention for Ovarian Cancer Enhanced Survival". Melissa received a Research Supplement to Promote Diversity in Health Related Research Grant (PA16-288) to investigate the association between inflammatory biomarkers and the Dietary Inflammatory Index among ovarian cancer survivors. Melissa's research interests involve the utilization of metabolomics in lifestyle interventions for cancer prevention and control among the Hispanic population.
