Vladimir Kalinichenko

Professor - Phoenix

Vladimir Kalinichenko, MD/PhD, is Professor in the Department of Child Health and Director of Phoenix Children’s Health Research Institute at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.

The Kalinichenko lab focuses on novel molecular mechanisms critical for embryonic lung development and lung regeneration after injury. We also develop new therapeutic strategies and technologies which can be utilized to improve clinical care for patients suffering from pediatric and adult pulmonary diseases. These include nanoparticle delivery systems for gene therapy, cell therapies with endothelial progenitor cells, and the artificial lung tissue derived from pluripotent embryonic stem cells.
